Our Cricut has gotten...bigger!!

We have some exciting news to share with all of you!!

As you all know May 2nd and 3rd was National Scrapbook Weekend across the US. While we were doing some "brainstorming" of new ideas and classes we came across HSN and they too were celebrating NSD. We saw some great products and of course the ideas quickly got moving. Instead of running to the Scrapbook Haven and putting the ideas on our pages, we ran to our wallets and bought some great things to share with all of you.

Our favorite purchase of the day was the "Big Daddy" of die cut makers. You guessed it, we bought the Cricut Expression!! It came with 4 cartridges of various fonts. This is the machine where you can use a full 12 x 12 sheet of paper. You can create larger or smaller dies. This machine is going to be a great asset to your scrapbook pages. We now have the interchangeable ink colors to use also to help you make beautiful cards as well. For those of you that didn't know, we actually created the letters on our wall in The Scrapbook Haven using the Cricut and vinyl paper.

We have a few classes in mind that will be using this new Cricut machine. All the cartridges we have are interchangeable so we have an even bigger selection to work with for great class ideas! We literally unwrapped the box last night, so give us a few days to get working.. Keep a look out for more details on our upcoming classes. This Wednesday May 20th we are having a Sizzix border class. Let us know if you can make it!

June 13th is our Beach Party Crop!! Join us for our cookout while you crop. This will be a great chance for you to come and try the NEW Cricut too.

Got Tags???

How many times have you wrapped a gift and needed a gift tag or forgot to buy the card and wish you had the gift tag? Look no more! Our next class will help solve those problems. We will be making some great tags using the CM punches. All you need to do is bring your "staple" scrapbook items. Personal Trimmer, scissors, tape runner (mini one too if you have one or the adhesive pen). Other supplies that you may bring if you have are Scrap paper and the CM Tag punch* and any other CM punch you may have. If you don't have the tag punch not to worry, we have some available for use.

*If you would like to purchase the punch prior to the class, All orders MUST be in by 5/6 for the 5/13 class.

Our first Tag class is scheduled for Wednesday May, 13th from 7pm to 9pm Cost is $10

Its almost here!! The biggest Scrapbook Event of the year for us croppers is only a short time away. You know the one, National Scrapbook Day!

Its the time of the year where we can celebrate our craft and enjoy great conversations with great people and of course, great food.

We have decided to take National Scrapbook Day to the NEXT level, we are going to make ours a 2 day event. So we will have 20 hours available for you to CROP TIL YOU DROP!

Here is the scoop, Friday night May 1st we will kick off the festivities at 7pm and crop 'til Midnight. We will have snacks, beverages, games, and of course a goodie bag for everyone!

Saturday May 2nd we will start at 9am and the party will last until Midnight. It will be a day full of cropping and games. We will be offering a quick and easy Make and Take to show you a new fun idea that you can use on your pages. Goodie bags for everyone that didn't attend on Friday. Lunch, snacks and dinner will be served too.

As always, our cropping tools are available for everyones use. We have the Sizzix, Cricut, Punches and Creative Memories Tools available.

Friday night only $10 Saturday All Day $25

Free Crop... are you coming??

Sorry its been a while. We have been really busy..

Our first Crop was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out.

We will get some pictures up on here soon, promise!

OK, our next all day is quickly approaching. Next Saturday, April 4th we are holding our Come crop with me.. it's FREE!! No cost to you, you just bring your own beverage and a snack to share with everyone. We will have the snacks for lunch (and beyond.. lol) and then dinner will be our treat!

We will be cropping from 9:30 am to 10:00pm.

Ok.. are you ready???

WE ARE!

Today is HUMP day- that means only 2 more days until our first event in our new Scrapbook Haven.

Here is a picture of our new table.. its the one that our husbands built for us.

It's awesome, it has beautiful cubbies to hold all your supplies and plenty of workspace for you to create your beautiful pages. (Don't worry about light.. there are more lights along the back wall, they just weren't turned on when the picture was taken cause we were turning in for the night and I said, "oooh wait, I want to take a picture." lol!)

The Countdown begins...

So this is our final week to finish up the last minute details...

We have everything almost ready!

The excitement between Jacki and I is quickly building and I can't wait for our big reveal. The colors, the table (its awesome) all the Sizzix dies, Quickutz and Eyelets. I finally was able to empty my room at my house and take it to Jacki's so my Cricut is now set up and ready to go. The NEW Creative Memories Products have been ordered. When placing my order I was told I should receive it by Thursday this week which will be great so we can get it displayed and ready for all to see by Saturday. I am keeping my fingers crossed with this snow that it will be delivered on time. I would hate for all of you to miss out on seeing it.

By Saturday night the adrenaline will be gone and we will be exhausted, but it is well worth it!

Just to let you know, we have 2 seats open for this Saturday. If anyone is interested shoot us an email. We can offer a beginners class too. If you have a friend that has never cropped and wants to try, bring her along! We have supplies available for purchase all that is needed to bring is pictures.

I will have the NEW CM Catalog available as soon as this order comes in. If you would like one mailed to you send me an email with your address and as soon as I get them I will mail one out to you!

Our future so bright, we gotta wear shades!

Excitement is overcoming Jacki and I.. it may be from the colors in the room or it might just be from all the paint fumes. We are looking forward to our friends and family seeing our new Crop Room and the 7Th of March cannot come fast enough!

We are still working on the "last minute" touches. We are happy to say our crop table is complete and it is beautiful. Chris and Dan (our wonderful husband's) did a fabulous job on it! We still have a few more things to do before we can say we are "finished"... but no worries, it will all be complete before the BIG REVEAL!!!!

On March 1st, Creative Memories will be launching BRAND NEW PRODUCTS!!! They are beautiful. I am hoping to have some of these products available for show at our 1st crop. Creative Memories has done some restructuring of their company and the changes are even better for our Hostess'. *Speaking of Get Togethers... I want to explain what they are to some of my "previous" customers because when I rejoined CM I had no idea what anyone was talking about. Instead of me coming into your home and you and your guests creating your first scrapbook page like we did way back when it is more casual. Today, you invite a few friends over, and like any other home show I bring my products and I explain what each of them are how they can benefit you. I will be at your house from start to finish for approx. 2 hours. Creative Memories today has 2 types of scrappers, traditional (this is how we scrapbook) and then there is the digital scrappers. (I am still learning this one..) So that is why CM has done away with the first page.

If the "Get Together" isn't really something your interested in doing, BUT you want to earn some FREE Products I have some suggestions for you that could benefit you.

  Crop Club version #1- You can get together you and your cropping friends and use my work space. Choose a date (can't be day that an event is already scheduled) you bring the snacks. As you and your friends are cropping I will go over all the newest CM products and we do a make and take together using one of the new products. You will receive the hostess gift for bringing your friends over and before the end of the night, you and your friends can place orders for products and you can leave earning FREE Product!

  Crop Club version #2- You and your friends get together at your regular cropping place. You tell me a time to stop in, I bring my products and let you all know what is new with CM. I will still do a make and take with a new product, you get a hostess gift for having me in and anyone who places an order helps you earn FREE Products.

  Have the Get-together at my Crop Room. If you don't have the space for your get together, you are welcome to have a get together in my crop room without us Cropping. Again, you invite your friends over (no supplies needed) bring a snack or 2 and I will do my show. You still earn the Hostess gifts and FREE products!!

If any of these options are something you would like to take advantage of, let me know. My dates are filling up quickly. Again, I am willing to travel (driving isn't an issue for me) so if you want me to come to your home for a Get Together, that is great.

The Construction has started...

Allright ladies...

Here is an update on The Scrapbook Haven...

Over the last few weeks Jacki has been working hard to find a place to put all her personal supplies (not an easy task I might add) and I went over for a few days and helped her organize her incredible Sizzix and Quikutz collection. (If you don't know what these are, they are die-cut tools where you can punch out letters , shapes etc)

Once we had the room organized, we then recruited the husbands for a trip to Home Depot. It was there that we purchased all the supplies needed to create our AWESOME crop table!

We picked out some great paint colors- we are going with bright and happy colors. When Jacki was on her honeymoon this past October she went to this coffee/breakfast shop called the 2 Cats Cafe in Bar Harbor Maine, it was colorful, bright and eclectic. She loved the feel of that cafe and she thought it would be cool to bring it to The Haven. So we got everything painted and the guys put the table together.. we just have some finishing touches to do to make this room complete. We can not wait for you see it. It is going to be beautiful!!!

Who are we??

The Scrapbook Haven was founded by 2 friends,

Crystal & Jacki, who met through what else? Scrapbooking!

How did we meet?

Back in 2003 Crystal was a Creative Memories Consultant. She was doing a home show for a friend of a co-worker and Jacki was there. Jacki showed great interest in the craft. Between crops, workshops at Crystal's house and even some weekend getaways a friendship bloomed.

This past October, Jacki was planning her wedding (a DIY) and she needed some help getting some things ready. Crystal offered her assistance and over night (somehow she still can't figure out how it happened ) she became Jacki's "Wedding Planner". It was at the wedding that many people told us that we should go into business together, we would make a great team.

Jacki and I did some brain storming... what could we do, what can we offer (especially in this economy) that will sell and be beneficial to the consumer?

It was a simple answer... Scrapbooking. Why not offer a place where other scrappers can come to work on their projects and where we can offer classes on new techniques. We were always looking for "that place"... let's just create it!
